Our Services
Big Red Dog Therapy offers hourly, on-site canine assisted therapy services. We can visit your facility, school or organization as many times as you like to provide services, and are willing to establish a regular visiting schedule.
Big Red Dog Therapy can provide services to individuals as well as groups of all ages.
We offer the following types of canine assisted therapy:
a). recreation therapy with the dogs (i.e., playing fetch, taking walks/runs)
b). reading assistance programs (clients with reading difficulties read to the dog)
c). social therapy with the dogs (i.e., learning social skills in groups through interactions facilitated by the dog)
d). relaxation therapy (spending time with the dog to help de-escalate, calm or provide a sense of companionship)
e). situation-adapted therapy techniques (therapeutic interactions tailored to specific situations, groups or locations)

Our Experience and Credentials
BRD founder, Jill (Vass) Moore has been doing animal assisted therapy since 2011. She has a bachelor's of arts in Bio-psychology from Monmouth College (Monmouth, IL). Jill currently works for a local funeral home in Burlington, IA. She has previously worked as a CLS Program Manager at Hope Haven Area Development Corporation a non-profit disabilities services organization in Burlington, IA where she worked with people of various ages from a range of backgrounds, assists with individual service programming in addition to managing group respite services. Jill has conducted undergraduate research in animal assisted therapy as well as training as a volunteer at an equine therapy facility. Jill has worked as a volunteer and foster-owner for West Hancock Canine Rescue and has experience in rehabilitating shelter pets. In the future, Jill hopes to obtain a Master's degree in Rehabilitation Science and turn Big Red Dog Therapy into a larger therapy organization which offers canine therapy, equine therapy and respite services.
